Yung-Hsuan is a sociotechnical researcher in AI. He combines social data science methods to examine and audit the technological artifacts that make up AI systems with anthropological approaches to uncover the human practices surrounding AI development and deployment. His research is empirical, using human–AI interaction experiments to investigate how AI systems affect group dynamics and the exercise of social skills.

He is currently an MSc student in Applied Social Data Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He previously helped design large-scale randomised controlled trials (RCTs) with users at the Trustworthy AI Lab, part of the Cambridge Centre for Human-Inspired AI. He has also worked as an AI auditor on behalf of marginalised communities.
